Construction has commenced on 200 new homes in Sandyford, Co Dublin.
Located at Lisieux Hall, the properties will comprise of 67 cost rental apartments and 133 social apartments. They are scheduled for delivery between Q4-2024 and Q1-2025, led by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and Respond.
The 133 social apartments will be allocated to persons from the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council housing waiting list.
Frank Curran, Chief Executive, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council said: "We are committed to delivering homes in this County for people at all income levels. We are delighted to work in partnership with Respond to achieve this aim at Lisieux, Sandyford which is an attractive place to live, close to transport links and supported by a wide range of local amenities."
Niamh Randall, Spokesperson for Respond commented: "Lisieux Hall is the largest mixed tenure housing development in Respond's portfolio and one of the largest to be built in South Dublin in a number of years. These homes are ideally placed close to amenities, public transport routes, and local commercial centres, and will provide secure accommodation at affordable prices to 200 hundred families."
Welcoming the commencement of construction of Lisieux Hall, Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage Darragh O'Brien T.D. added: "Respond's Lisieux Hall development will provide much needed homes and long-term security of tenure for the people of South Dublin. This is another vital step in providing more accommodation at affordable prices and I very much look forward to completion of the first units in 2024. Through Housing for All, we are ensuring that more developments like Lisieux Hall can be delivered."
