Leading Northern Ireland construction firm Heron Bros Ltd is set to develop a new multi-million storage and distribution facility at Nutts Corner.
The Antrim and Newtownabbey Planning Committee granted approval for the project in just 17 weeks.
The new 250,000 sq ft premises, which will include warehouses, cold dock and office accommodation, will create up to 200 temporary jobs during construction and a further 230 permanent jobs upon completion.
Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Alderman Stephen Ross said: "Once again the efficient work from our planning officers has been demonstrated in this major planning application which has been completed in just 17 weeks. I welcome this significant investment by Heron Bros Ltd to our Borough, this is a great boost for the local economy with an estimated £35m investment in the construction sector alone."
Chair of Antrim and Newtownabbey Planning Committee Alderman Dr Fraser Agnew added: "This is great news for the Borough, this multi-million investment will contribute to the Councils plans for attracting £1bn investment and the creation of 2500 jobs by 2025."
