Northern Ireland-based contractor Farrans has pledged to plant over 600 trees to mark Earth Day.
The company is partnering with Ecologi to plant a tree for every employee across a range of projects, contributing to climate mitigation, providing vital habitats for biodiversity and supporting the lives of people around the world.
From mangrove trees protecting coastal communities from flooding in Madagascar, to Polylepsis trees strengthening water security for people in the high Andes, or fruit trees providing food and a source of income for farmers in Morocco and Uganda, the trees will bring many benefits.
2023 Earth Day will take place on Saturday 22 April focused on engaging the more than 1 billion people, governments, institutions, and businesses who participate to recognise our collective responsibility and to help accelerate the transition to an equitable, prosperous green economy for all.
