Alliance Endorses RSPB Manifesto

Alliance has endorsed the RSPB Local Government manifesto, which looks at issues relating to planning, biodiversity and nature and climate.

Speaking about the party's decision ahead of the upcoming local elections, Alliance MLA John Blair said: "Alliance Councillors are and will continue to be environmental champions. We fully understand the combined role local Councils can play in environmental protection, nature restoration and ensuring public bodies meet the legal requirements of the Climate Change Act.

"Every one of us has a role to play in giving leadership at every level of government to help protect our natural environment, habitat and native species. Alliance representatives will continue to work with the RSPB and other environmental agencies to ensure government, at all levels, is providing the necessary lead and resource. That's yet another reason we need a restored Assembly and Executive immediately."
