Roadworks are expected to begin in the County Down village of Ballygowan next week.
Work will commence on Monday 05 June to resurface a 2.1 kilometre stretch of the A21 Ballygowan Road between the Magherascouse Road junction and the Hillsborough Road junction. It is expected to be completed by Friday 30 June.
These upgrades will improve the road network for those travelling between Ballygowan and Comber.
To facilitate the safe delivery of the scheme it will be necessary to implement a road closure from 9.30am to 4.30pm, throughout the scheme. The road will be open to traffic overnight and at the weekends.
During these times there will be a signed diversionary route via A21 Comber Road, A21 Saintfield Road Roundabout, A23 Belfast Road, A23 Moneyreagh Road and B178 Hillsborough Road.
Local access for residents and emergency services will be maintained at all times, however some minor delays may be experienced.
