Flogas Ireland has invested £3.5 million in its HVO Gold Standard LPG Tanker Fleet.
The company has purchased 17 new vehicles, transitioned the entire fleet to run on Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) and installed high-spec diagnostic and tracking software for road safety.
As the energy partner of Team Ireland for Paris 2024, the Flogas fleet is the only LPG provider to hold the prestigious Truck Safe Gold Standard Award from the Freight Transport Association of Ireland. The award is given to businesses and commercial fleets that meet and exceed the highest industry-leading safety practice.
Kevin Donnelly, General Manager at Flogas LPG, said: "The Gold Standard award is a testament to the rigorous training, maintenance, and operational protocols we have upheld to safeguard our drivers and the customers we serve. We couldn’t have achieved this milestone without the incredible dedication of our drivers and maintenance crew headed by Mick Dalton, our transport manager."
Collectively, the Flogas fleet of road tankers travels over 2.5 million kilometres annually. Switching to HVO has reduced the fleet’s carbon emissions by up to 90%.
John Rooney, Managing Director at Flogas, said: "Our multimillion investment in our tanker fleet and the switch to HVO marks our dedication to the highest standards of road safety and it is a significant milestone on our journey towards a more eco-conscious future and we are proud to be taking an industry leading position in this area. Congratulations to Mick Dalton and all our LPG transport team on the Gold Standard Truck Safety Award and for all their hard work and accomplishments to date."
