DfI Urgently Progresses Belfast Resurfacing Scheme

Department for Infrastructure (DfI) has urgently progressed the resurfacing and reconstruction of Gilnahirk Road in Belfast after damage caused by recent storms.

Contractors will repair and resurface a section of the carriageway between Elsmere Heights and Gilnahirk Road West.

In order to facilitate the works, this section of road remains closed and road users are advised to follow the signed diversionary route.

The DfI said it intends to complete the scheme and reopen the road as soon as possible. Preliminary works and investigations are ongoing until the reconstruction scheme can commence in full.
