Montgomery Developments' planning application for a new £6 million facility in Newtownabbey has been approved by Antrim and Newtownabbey Planning Committee.
The facility which will be located on the Doagh Road will include two warehouse buildings with ancillary facilities and car parking.
During the construction phase, it is anticipated that around 80-100 jobs will be created and up to an additional 50 jobs upon completion.
This multi-million pound investment in the Borough will develop the company's impressive portfolio which includes the renowned Montgomery Transport Group, one the largest private owned transport companies in the UK.
Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Councillor Mark Cooper BEM welcomed the planning approval, said: "This major investment highlights the commitment of established businesses within our Borough seeking to expand their operations. I welcome the new jobs this will provide and the benefits it will bring to the local economy."
Chairman of Antrim and Newtownabbey’s Planning Committee Councillor Robert Foster, stated: "The efficiency of our planning section which has processed this major application well under the statutory target of 30 weeks, reinforces the Council’s position for attracting investment."
