NI Water is continuing to install a new 700 metre pumping main in Ballyclare.

Contractors will begin working on the Jubilee Road around the entrance to Hassons Hall Park on 4 December. The works will progress along the road towards the roundabout.

The works that are expected to take around three weeks will be carried out between 07.30am and 4.30pm from Monday to Friday.

The new wastewater infrastructure is being installed to serve a development of over 200 houses in the town.

NI Water Project Manager, Stephanie McBride said: "Once the section on Jubilee Road has been completed, our contractor will carry out pipelaying across the roundabout area onto Templepatrick Road. This work will need to be carried out at night due to the high volume of daytime traffic. Depending on progress on Jubilee Road, the night-time work may not commence until after the contractor's Christmas break.

"To undertake the night-time works safely, it will be necessary to have traffic lights in operation on the four lanes of the roundabout between 7pm and 6am each night. The roadway will be fully reinstated and the traffic lights removed each night to facilitate daytime traffic flows. Once on Templepatrick Road, pipelaying will revert to daytime working hours under a lane closure as before, with access maintained for businesses and residents. Road users should allow extra time for their journeys during all sections of this essential work.
