Beaulieu Parkway Bridge in Chelmsford, which was completed by Northern Ireland construction firm GRAHAM, has won the High Standard of Design Achieved at The Structural Steel Design Awards.
The £20m project included the design and construction of the 161m three-span road bridge for client, Countryside Zest.
"Winning this award highlights the team's dedication to innovative design and craftmanship, pushing the boundaries of structural engineering by creating sustainable and aesthetically pleasing infrastructures that will leave an impact in the community," said GRAHAM Project Manager, Sean O’Neill.
The bridge will create a strategic link that will bring long-term benefits for the people at Chelmsford. A project that demonstrates innovation, collaboration, and excellence in key infrastructure development.
The Structural Steel Design Awards judges' commented: "This 161m long, three-span highways bridge has an extraordinary construction story.
"The structure, which spans a road and live railway, is curved in plan and section. Built on the ground, complete with much of its deck, the structure was then driven into position on multiple specialist propelled moveable transporters."
