Energia Group has announced its recertification for the Business Working Responsibly Mark, recognised at Business in the Community Ireland’s annual CEO forum.
First awarded in 2019, the Group's recent recertification is a testament to the company’s continued commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices.
Established in 2010 by Business in the Community Ireland, the Business Working Responsibly Mark (‘the Mark’) is Ireland’s Economic, Environmental, Social and Governance (EESG) standard. Independently verified by the National Standards Authority of Ireland, it is the standard for sustainability that goes beyond legal compliance by fostering a culture of responsible business through continuous improvement, ongoing accountability, and leadership.
To be recognised, companies must demonstrate best-in-class commitment to sustainability in the areas most relevant to their activities. For Energia Group, this meant undergoing a comprehensive two-day audit conducted by the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) that evaluated the Group’s management system in a range of key topics such as environmental management, community engagement, governance, diversity and inclusion, and value chain management.
Annabel FitzGerald, ESG & Corporate Communications Manager with Energia Group and Chairperson of the Business Working Responsibly Association said: "Securing the Business Working Responsibly Mark for the second time demonstrates our continued commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices, as well as our dedication to our customers, colleagues, and the communities we are part of. It also highlights our dedication to playing a leading role in shaping a cleaner, more sustainable energy future for Ireland."
