Belfast-based construction company McLaughlin & Harvey has been awarded Platinum membership of The 5% Club for the second consecutive year.
The membership was achieved via The 5% Club's 2024 – 25 Employer Audit Scheme and recognises significant contributions made to developing employees through McLaughlin & Harvey's earn and learn schemes.
These include apprenticeships, graduate schemes and sponsored student course placements.
McLaughlin & Harvey's earn and learn scheme allows its employees to choose an alternative route into employment, combining study with practical experience, enabling them to gain the knowledge and skills required to pursue their chosen occupation.
A statement released by McLaughlin & Harvey said: "Achieving Platinum status is a testament to our dedication to nurturing the growth and development of our workforce.
"It underscores our belief that investment in people is the cornerstone of success. Through programs that offer hands-on learning, we are creating pathways for professional growth, equipping our staff with the skills and confidence they need to thrive.
"By being part of The 5% Club, we proudly stand alongside over 1,100 forward-thinking employers who are dedicated to driving positive change.
"The 5% Club represents a powerful movement of companies working together to make workplace training more inclusive, diverse, and accessible. Members support 1.9 million employees, with more than 108,000 individuals participating in earn and learn schemes.
"The Employer Audit rigorously assesses our efforts, future ambitions, and commitment to social mobility, diversity, and inclusion, further strengthening our mission.
"The scheme is a dynamic movement of employers, all of whom are inspired to take positive action for increased inclusive and accessible workplace training for all."
It concluded: "The employer audit is a unique scheme that validates the employers' activities, explores their future plans and commitments, and examines their approaches to quality, social mobility, diversity, and inclusion."
