A £500k carriageway resurfacing and footway scheme in Dungiven, County L'Derry, got underway this morning.
The resurfacing scheme extends for 1 kilometre along the Old Foreglen Road in Ballymonie from the junction of B192 Foreglen Road to the junction with Columbia Park.
A lane closure is operational daily from 8am to 6pm, until Friday, March 21, from B192 Foreglen Road to the junction with Columbia Park to facilitate the delivery of the scheme.
The works will be substantially complete by Friday, March 21, subject to weather conditions.
Announcing the scheme, Department for Infrastructure Minister John O'Dowd said: "This is a substantial investment for the Dungiven area which will deliver significant benefits for residents and road users.
"The investment demonstrates my commitment to improving our rural road and footpath network, which is vital for connecting our businesses and communities.
"I would like to thank residents, local businesses, and commuters for their patience while this essential infrastructure work is carried out."
