Uisce Éireann Launches €9m Water Supply Project In Dunlavin

Uisce Éireann has announced the start of a €9 million project to enhance the water supply for homes and businesses in Dunlavin, County Wicklow.

The initiative will improve water supply security and resilience by constructing 7.3 kilometres of new watermain to connect Dunlavin to the Greater Dublin Area (GDA) supply zone.

The new pipeline will run along the R412 between Dunlavin village and Brannockstown, County Kildare. Once complete, the Dunlavin Water Supply Rationalisation Project will address existing supply challenges and provide the capacity needed to support future development in the region.

Construction is set to begin in Dunlavin village in late January, with work along the R412 scheduled to start in March 2025. To ensure safety during the phased construction, traffic management systems will be implemented in the affected areas.

The project will be delivered by David Walsh Civil Engineering Ltd. on behalf of Uisce Éireann, with completion expected by the end of 2025.
