A road closure has been put in place to facilitate works that are progressing on a transformative public realm project in County Cork.
The Beamish & Crawford Quarter project will see the renewal of the public realm around the medieval core of Cork City – South Main Street, Tuckey Street and Proby's Quay.
Installation works for new granite paving and macadam roadway on the western side of South Main Street are being completed but in order to now complete the eastern side, a temporary road closure has been announced by Cork City Council until February 28.
South Main Street will be closed from its junction at Washington Street to its junction at Sullivan's Quay during this period.
The cycle lane will be closed during this period, however, pedestrians will still be able to walk down South Main Street and access to homes and businesses along the street will be maintained.
