A six-week public consultation has been launched for the new South Park and Public Urban Realm Project in County Galway.
The consultation was launched by Galway City County for the purpose of gathering contributions and feedback for the project which is being designed by a team consisting of LUC, MKO and Quinn Architects.
The project aims to reimagine the historic natural amenity adjacent to the centre of Galway City.
A statement released by Galway City Council said: "The project will be transformational for South Park, the Claddagh Basin, Mutton Island Causeway and Celia Griffin Children’s Memorial Park.
"It is envisioned that the project will create accessible, public, green spaces, with biodiversity-friendly planting, age and mobility friendly pathways and spaces for play and relaxation."
Members of the public, including local residents and business owners have also been invited to attend a drop-in consultation event to discuss the plans and share feedback with the design team.
This drop-in event is scheduled to take place on Thursday, February 13, from 1pm to 7.30pm at Galway City Centre Library in St. Augustine Street.
