A £450,000 footway and carriageway resurfacing scheme is set to commence next week on the Old Portglenone Road in Ahoghill, County Antrim.
The resurfacing scheme, which will begin on Monday, March 24, and is expected to be completed by Friday, May 23, will extend from The Diamond approximately 900m in the direction of Portglenone.
Announcing the scheme, Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins said: "This is a substantial investment for the Ahoghill area which will deliver significant benefits for residents and road users.
"The investment demonstrates my commitment to improving our rural road network, which is vital for connecting our businesses and communities. I would like to thank residents, local businesses, and commuters for their patience while this essential infrastructure work is carried out."
Lane closures will be implemented to facilitate the scheme during the hours of 8am to 6pm from Monday, March 24, until Friday, April 18. A continuous road closure will then be in place from Monday, April 28 until Friday, May 9, to accommodate the resurfacing works.
Further lane closures from Monday, May 12, until Friday, May 23, will be required for completion of the works.
