Water supply has successfully returned to homes and businesses in Carlow Town following restoration works by Uisce Éireann.
Crews from the utility company were called into action following a significant burst in the network which affected Carlow Town, Pollerton and the surrounding areas. The crews were able to reconfigure the network to minimise the impact on customers.
Discussing the works, Shane Aylward, Water Network Operations Lead, Uisce Éireann, said: "We experienced a burst in a large water main coming from Brownshill Reservoir, which temporarily disrupted the water supply. Our dedicated crews responded quickly and successfully reconfigured the network to minimise the impact on homes and businesses. The repair works are complex and will be completed to have minimal impact. I would like to thank our customers for their understanding during this process."
