The Boil Water Notice affecting the Crotty's Lake Public Water Supply has been officially lifted with immediate effect.
Uisce Éireann confirmed that the decision follows consultation with the Health Service Executive (HSE), and that customers can now resume normal use of the public water supply. The notice, which had been in place since 25 November 2024, was issued as a precautionary measure due to operational issues that disrupted treatment processes at the plant.
According to Uisce Éireann, a series of remedial works were carried out at the facility, and consistent satisfactory sampling results have since confirmed the water is now safe to consume.
Drinking water specialists worked to resolve the issue as quickly and safely as possible. Speaking about the development, Uisce Éireann’s Jim Fitzgerald said: "Uisce Éireann regrets the inconvenience that the Boil Water Notice had on the community of Carrick-on-Suir. I would like to thank them for their patience and support while our drinking water experts worked to lift the Boil Water Notice as quickly as it was safe to do so. I would also like to thank the Elected Representatives and the media for their assistance in sharing the information during the period of this boil water notice."
