Shareridge has commenced works on behalf of Uisce Éireann to replace two kilometres of old and damaged water mains which will improve supply to the community of Rathduff in Ireland.

The mains, which are prone to frequent bursts, will be swapped with modern pipes between the Rathduff Pumping Station and Rathduff Reservoir.

Commenting on the project, Programme Manager at Uisce Éireann, Dave Murphy said: "This project is a key part of Uisce Éireann's efforts to improve the national water infrastructure. By replacing these old water mains, we will significantly reduce drinking water loss by leakage and conserve this vital resource.

"These improvements are crucial for supporting communities like Rathduff to thrive and ensuring a more secure and reliable water supply for years to come. I would like to thank the community for their patience and support as we carry out these essential works."

The works are expected to be completed by the summer.
