Following extensive works from Uisce Éireann and consultations with the Health Service Executive, the Boil Water Notice on the Glenary Public Water Supply in County Waterford has now been lifted.

The areas supplied by Glenary include parts of Clonmel Town centre and surrounding areas including Cashel Road, Cahir Road and Ring Road as well the Kilcomma and Finger Post areas.

The Boil Water Notice was issued on April 29 to protect the health of approximately 11,000 customers following operational issues which affected treatment at the water treatment plant for a short period of time.

Drinking water experts from Uisce Éireann worked hard to lift the notice for impacted customers as quickly and as safely as possible, and following consistent satisfactory sampling results this has now been approved.

Uisce Éireann's Jim Fitzgerald acknowledged the impact of the notice on the community, stating: "Uisce Éireann regrets the inconvenience that the Boil Water Notice had on customers on the Glenary Public Water Supply.

"I would like to thank them for their patience and support while our drinking water experts worked to lift the Boil Water Notice as quickly as it was safe to do so. I would also like to thank the Elected Representatives and the media for their assistance in sharing the information during the period of this boil water notice."
