Employees from Northern Ireland construction firm Farrans have raised over £13,000 for NI Chest, Heart and Stroke (NICHS), after successfully completing the world famous Belfast City Marathon.

Forty runners from Farrans made up eight relay teams, who together ran the 26.2 mile distance to raise some welcome funds for charity.

NICHS works with people of all ages across the country, delivering vital care and prevention services, supporting ground-breaking research and campaigning for change.

With almost 90% of NICHS's income coming exclusively from public donations, Farrans stated it was pleased to be supporting the charity's good work.

A statement from Farran's said: "Thank you to everyone who donated, our excellent t-shirt sponsors and also to Sarah Heffernan for her superb organisation of this annual Farrans' event."
