Following remedial works and consistent satisfactory sampling results, the Boil Water Notice on the Rathcabbin Public Water Supply in County Tipperary has now been lifted, Uisce Éireann has announced.

The notice was issued on April 7 to protect the health of approximately 1,200 customers following elevated turbidity which affected treatment at the water treatment plant.

However, consultations have since took place between the utility company and the Health Service Executive and customers can now resume normal use of the public water supply.

Uisce Éireann's Pierce Faherty acknowledged the impact of the notice on the community, stating: "Uisce Éireann regrets the inconvenience that the Boil Water Notice had on customers on the Rathcabbin Public Water Supply.

"I would like to thank them for their patience and support while our drinking water experts worked to lift the Boil Water Notice as quickly as it was safe to do so. We will continue to monitor the water supply throughout the summer and will inform customers should further issues arise."
