Leitrim Council Seeks Contractors for Housing Grant Works

Leitrim County Council is now inviting applications from interested contractors who wish to have their names included on a list of those available for the carrying out of works under various housing grant schemes for older people and disabled people.

These schemes include:

• The Housing Adaptation Grant for Disabled People, which is available to assist in the carrying out of works which are reasonably necessary for the purposes of rendering a house more suitable for the accommodation of a disabled person who is a member of that household.

• The Mobility Aids Housing Grant Scheme, which serves to fast-track grant aid to cover a basic suite of works to address mobility problems, primarily, but not exclusively, associated with ageing, in order that recipients are not subject to delays in accessing works.

• The Housing Aid for Older People Grant, which is available to assist older people living in poor housing conditions to have necessary repairs or improvements carried out that are reasonably necessary to prolong the useful life of the house for the applicant.

Interested contractors wishing to be added to the list should e-mail their contractor trading name, postal address, e-mail address and contact telephone number to [email protected] on or before Friday, May 30.

This list of contractors will be published on the council's website and will also be provided to applicants of the scheme in hard copy as required.

Additional information on the housing grant schemes is published on www.leitrim.ie.
