Funding Approved For Kilkenny-Based Flood Mitigation Works

Additional funding of €69,558 has been approved for planned flood mitigation works at Ardaloo in Jenkinstown, County Kilkenny, Minister Kevin Moran has announced.

The Office of Public Works (OPW) green-lit Kilkenny County Council's application for funding under the OPW' Minor Flood Mitigation Works and Coastal Protection Scheme, which will now allow the works to progress.

These planned works include using a flood wall around the subject property site. Kilkenny County Council had given an undertaking to protect four houses in total; three houses at risk of flooding as well as the nearby isolated property that floods on a regular basis.

This funding is in addition to €78,453 approved in August 2024, which brings the total approved funding for this project to €148,011.
