A new playspace at Saggart Schoolhouse Community Centre in Dublin has been successfully delivered by Play and Leisure Services and Irish Fencing Ltd.
The playspace consists of a range of different swings, a large multi-play climbing unit with a slide, an accessible trampoline, a spinner, an accessible roundabout, a sand play area, percussion post, a range of natural features as well as park benches and an accessible picnic area.
Officially opening the playspace, Area Committee Chair for Clondalkin, Newcastle, Rathcoole, Saggart and Brittas Area Committee, Councillor Shirley O’Hara said: "The playspace has delivered a much sought-after facility for the local area and since its delivery has proven to be very popular, with many families gathering here daily."
The project was funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development via the Community Recognition Fund. This fund supports the development of community infrastructure and facilities for the entire community in recognition of the contribution being made in the area in welcoming and hosting new arrivals from Ukraine and other countries.
