Breedon Surfacing Solutions Ireland Ltd has been awarded the N4 Inner Relief Road Pavement Resurfacing 2025 contract by Sligo County Council.
The project involves resurfacing approximately one kilometre of the N4 Inner Relief Road, from the Summerhill Roundabout to the Custom House Quay junction. Works are scheduled to begin on Monday, August 11, and continue through to Friday, September 12. The five-week programme will take place during off-peak evening and night-time hours, excluding Saturday and Sunday nights.
To carry out the works, lane closures will be required in both directions—northbound towards Donegal and southbound towards Dublin—during night-time operations. However, the road will remain fully open to two-way traffic during daytime hours. The northbound lanes will be resurfaced first, followed by the southbound lanes.
Temporary traffic management and local diversions will be in place to facilitate the works. These include adjustments to east-west access across the N4, particularly between the City Centre and the coast. Dedicated crossing points will be maintained throughout to ensure continued access.
