Cork City Council has confirmed the completion of key construction elements at Marina Park, with the Holland Park section and adjacent playground opened to the public in early July.

Delivered as part of the wider development, the new playground includes a range of timber and metal play structures such as climbing frames, a log trail, net trail, standard and basket swings, a teepee, a tunnel and a wheelchair-accessible swing. The existing 'snakes and ladders' slides along the greenway have been resurfaced with a softer, safer material and access improvements have been made to support re-entry to the top of the slope.

New outdoor gym equipment has been installed beside the playground to encourage wider use of the space. Seating, picnic benches and sun loungers have also been added throughout the area.

Landscaping works in Holland Park are now complete, incorporating new tree planting and over 10,000 plants. Construction work is ongoing around the Atlantic Pond, where a new timber-deck bridge is being constructed on the southern side (approaching Páirc Uí Chaoimh), along with new benches and lighting.

Works at Barrington's Folly and the associated woodland paths are nearing completion, with planting and seeding now finished. The Sunken Garden area is now also complete, with a new picnic bench installed and 8,000 new plants gone in.
