Shareridge Ltd is set to begin works on behalf of Uisce Éireann to improve the water infrastructure in County Tipperary.
As part of Uisce Éireann's National Leakage Reduction Programme, almost 5.3km of aged water mains will be replaced between Mount Bruis and Shronell which will result in a more secure and reliable water supply.
Dave Murphy, Programme Manager with Uisce Éireann, is looking forward to getting this important project underway for the community: "Replacing these old and damaged pipes will significantly lower the instances of bursts and outages on the network, eliminate existing leaks and reduce the amount of clean water lost into the ground. The works will also improve the operation of the network by reducing the need for frequent repairs to aged watermains.
"These improvements are crucial for supporting communities in Tipperary to thrive and will ensure a more resilient water supply for years to come. In advance of the works commencing, we would like to thank the local community for their support and patience as we carry out these essential works."
The works are expected to be completed by early 2026.
