Ward and Burke Construction Ltd is currently delivering the final phase of works on the Fair Street, Mallow water network upgrade project for Uisce Éireann.
The project involves the installation of over one kilometre of water mains to combat frequent bursts and cater for the future growth and development of the wider Mallow area. Currently, two phases of road closures have now been completed and almost 900 metres of new water mains have been installed.
Commenting on the progress, Uisce Éireann Programme Manager, Jack Cronin said: "We are pleased to have made such significant progress in the pipelaying installation works and appreciate the patience of the community in Mallow as we carry out these essential works."
For the remainder of the works, which are on course to finish in late October 2025, traffic management in the form of flagmen will be in place.
The project will strengthen the resilience of the water supply for homes and businesses across Mallow, while also facilitating social and economic growth, including planned residential development.
