Uisce Éireann is progressing with a major upgrade of Ballymahon's water network, replacing over 5.4km of ageing mains with new pipework.
More than 2km of mains have already been replaced, improving supply security, reducing leakage, and supporting local growth.
To connect the new pipes, a planned outage will affect water supply in Ballymahon and surrounding areas, including Kilcurry, Cloonard, Toome, Clonkeen, Ballymulvey, Ballybranigan, Drinan, Moygh, Castlecore, Caroge, Glebe, Shrule, Moneyfad, and Cartonboy, from 5pm to 9pm on Thursday, October 2.
Dave Murphy of Uisce Éireann said: "We understand the inconvenience caused by an interruption to supply. Every effort will be made to limit the impact of these essential works, and we would like to thank the community in advance for their patience and co-operation.
"Following the completion of the works, it can take two to three hours for normal water supply to return to customers as water refills the network, particularly for those properties on higher ground or at the end of the network."
