Cork City Council is calling on landowners, homebuilders and other stakeholders to identify land suitable for residential zoning to support faster housing delivery.
The First Revision of the National Planning Framework emphasises the need to accelerate housing development nationwide, while the Housing Growth Requirements Guidelines encourage local authorities to review their plans and consider zoning additional residential land where appropriate.
Submissions can be made via the Cork City Council website portal until November 10. While this is a non-statutory consultation, the council will assess the information received, and lands deemed suitable may be proposed in a formal variation of the Cork City Development Plan 2022-2028.
