Maghera-based BSG Civil Engineering, contractor for NI Water's £20 million Lenamore & Skeoge Wastewater Projects, has completed nine phases of pipelaying along Madams Bank Road in County L'Derry.

Following the final installation near Carranbane Walk, all traffic management measures have now been removed from the road.

While pipelaying on Madams Bank Road is finished, BSG will carry out ground investigations, including boreholes around Culmore Road Roundabout. These investigations, planned between October 15 and 19, will determine if a trenchless method is viable for crossing the road with new pipelines. Off-peak lane closures of the slip lane will be in place during these surveys, with the main road crossing scheduled for 2026.

To complete permanent resurfacing on Madams Bank Road affected by the pipelaying, two overnight closures are planned for November 4 and 5, between 7pm and 6am. NI Water will confirm traffic management arrangements once permits are approved.

Remaining pipelaying will take place mostly on private land from Carranbane Walk to the new Lenamore Wastewater Pumping Station off Heather Road, where construction is already underway. NI Water's project team will notify local residents ahead of works and provide updates throughout the scheme.
