County Galway-based contractor Coffey has prioritised construction safety with a focused Lunch & Learn session on utilities and existing services, both overhead and underground.
The session, part of Construction Safety Week 2025, brought together teams across Ireland and the UK to review core safety practices in managing critical site risks.
The discussion centred on practical measures for planning, communication and checking on site. Teams emphasised thorough preparation through permits, hazard zones and exclusion zones, clear documentation and lesson-sharing, and always treating utilities as live during work. Coffey also highlighted the "3 Ps" checklist to guide safety on site: ensuring people are competent and trained, following correct processes, and using the appropriate plant and equipment.
By revisiting these fundamental practices, Coffey continues to reinforce safety at every stage of its projects, making everyday actions as critical as the projects themselves.
