Uisce Éireann has warned motorists of a temporary closure on the L1014 in Kellystown to allow essential work on the Maynooth Transfer Pipeline Project.
The closure will run from Monday, 10 November to Saturday, 6 December 2025, covering the stretch between the L5050 junction at Catherinstown and the L1015 junction at Kellystown. Clearly marked diversion routes will be in place, with emergency and local access maintained throughout the period.
Ciaran Ryan of Uisce Éireann said: "We understand that road closures can be disruptive, and we thank the public in advance for their patience and cooperation while we deliver these essential works. This project will bring long-term benefits for the community, supporting housing delivery and economic growth."
The €24 million Maynooth Transfer Pipeline forms part of Uisce Éireann's national Growth and Development Programme. The project includes a new wastewater pipeline connecting Maynooth Wastewater Pump Station to Leixlip Wastewater Treatment Plant, along with upgrades to the existing pump station. Coffey Construction is carrying out the works on behalf of Uisce Éireann.
Once complete, the pipeline will create capacity for an additional 11,500 homes in Maynooth and Kilcock and enhance the performance of the local wastewater network, ensuring reliable and sustainable services for the community.
