Sisk played a leading role in the Construction Industry Federation's (CIF) annual Construction Safety Campaign, held from 13–24 October, supporting this year's theme, 'Back to Basics'.

The initiative urged companies across the sector to revisit core safety procedures, review management systems, and re-engage teams in essential on-site safety conversations.

Project teams across Sisk participated in a range of activities during the campaign. At the company’s Intel project, the focus centred on safe lifting practices. In partnership with Mercury and O’Brien Crane Hire, the team delivered both a presentation and a live demonstration covering critical safety topics including 360 teleporter set-ups, pedestrian route planning, spotter positioning, load stability, defective equipment identification, QR-code safety systems, operator cab awareness, and the establishment of exclusion zones for lifting operations.

At the Astellas Life Sciences project in Kerry, the site team marked the week with a town hall session on managing live energies, alongside a mental-health talk delivered by David Hamill, Sisk’s Mental Health Lead for Ireland. Meanwhile, the Glass Bottle project in Dublin hosted safety briefings with supply chain partners, focusing on critical risks and the prevention of falls from height.

CIF’s 'Back to Basics' message aims to highlight the importance of consistently reinforcing fundamental safety practices, underscoring the role they play in protecting workers across the industry.

Sisk's long-standing commitment to safety was further recognised this month at the National Irish Safety Organisation and Northern Ireland Safety Group (NISO/NISG) Awards. At a ceremony held on 10 October in Killarney, the company received the Excellence in Safety Award, honouring organisations that have maintained exceptionally high safety standards for more than 15 years.

Sisk also earned a Higher Distinction Award for its 2024 safety submission, marking another significant acknowledgement of the company’s sustained efforts to prioritise health and safety across all projects.
