Hollywood Glamour Ball Raises Nearly £120,000 For WaterAid In Belfast

The WaterAid Northern Ireland Committee has announced that almost £120,000 profit was generated at its 'Hollywood Glamour' Charity Ball, held recently at Titanic Belfast in support of the international charity WaterAid.

Dr Sara Venning, WaterAid NI President and CEO of NI Water, said: "The Committee continually raises the bar each year with this event, and we are proud of this record-breaking total! I would like to sincerely thank all our sponsors, particularly our Platinum Headline Sponsors GEDA & Water Solutions Ireland.

"These funds will make a real difference in supporting an exciting new WaterAid project in Rwanda, which will empower young people to become 'Agents of Change' in their communities.

"The Committee is proud to help WaterAid increase access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene education in Rwanda."

Platinum sponsors were Coalisland-based GEDA and Newry-based Water Solutions Ireland. Gold sponsors included BSG, CivCo Ltd, Farrans Construction Ltd, GRAHAM, McAdam and Mott MacDonald. Silver sponsors were DLJ Water Ltd, Dawson WAM, Echo Managed Services, Morrow Contracts, Meridian Utilities, Murphy Process Engineering Ltd, and Outform Consulting.

In 2024, the WaterAid NI committee provided over £170,000 to the 'Flowing Futures' project for 2024/25, advancing WaterAid's Strategy Aim 1 of achieving universal access to water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) in Rwanda's Bugesera District. Building on that work, the committee will back a new initiative, 'Agents of Change', which continues the Aim 1 focus on universal WASH in Bugesera and also supports Aim 2 on WASH in public health in the Nyamagabe District.
