Farrans Highly Commended At All-Ireland Occupational Safety Awards

Farrans has received a Highly Commended honour at the All-Ireland Occupational Safety Awards, underscoring its health and safety performance.

Members of the company's SHE team, Joe Loughan and Ryan Carson, accepted the accolade at the Northern Ireland Safety Group’s annual conference at the La Mon Hotel.

The awards were launched in 1992, with the Northern Ireland Safety Group (NISG) partnering with the National Irish Safety Organisation (NISO) to run the programme jointly from 1995. Since then, almost 3,000 entries have been submitted by organisations across the island of Ireland.

Regarded as a leading benchmark for the construction sector, the NISO/NISG scheme recognises organisations that demonstrate exemplary, proactive safety cultures — an approach Farrans said is embedded across its operations.

Mr Loughan said: "We are deeply honoured and proud to have won a prestigious All Ireland Health and Safety Award, endorsed by the National Irish Safety Organisation (NISO) and the Northern Ireland Safety Group (NISG). This esteemed recognition is a tremendous validation of our unwavering commitment to the health, safety, and well-being of our entire team and all those affected by our operations.

"At Farrans, safety is much more than just a policy; it is a core value and an integral part of our culture, woven into every aspect of our daily activities. Our mission remains clear: to ensure that everyone goes home safe at the end of each day.

"This award is a testament to the collective dedication, vigilance, and hard work of every single employee. We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all our staff and our supply chain partners for their continuous efforts, commitment to our safety procedures, and proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks. This achievement would not have been possible without their support and active involvement.

"We are especially thankful to the National Irish Safety Organisation (NISO) and the Northern Ireland Safety Group (NISG) for this recognition and for providing a platform to benchmark our performance against the highest industry standards.

"We view this accolade not only as a symbol of our past accomplishments but as a powerful motivation to continue improving our processes, sharing knowledge, and leading by example to elevate safety standards across the industry. We remain committed to our journey of excellence in the field of occupational health and safety.

"Thank you to everyone who contributed to this success. Your dedication and passion inspire us all to strive for the highest standards."
