Uisce Éireann crews are working this afternoon to restore water supplies to customers in Croithlí, Anagaire, Loch an Iúir, Rann na Feirste and neighbouring areas.

A mechanical issue at the Croithlí Water Treatment Plant during essential maintenance earlier today led to reduced reservoir levels, affecting customers on the Na Rosa Regional Public Water Supply Scheme.

Damien O’Sullivan of Uisce Éireann said work is continuing to resolve the problem and return services as soon as possible. “We acknowledge the impact of an outage such as this and we assure impacted customers that we are doing all we can to bring supply back to normal levels as quickly as possible,” said Damien.

Repairs are due to be completed by 6pm this evening. Normally, supply returns within two to three hours after repairs, though customers on higher ground or at the ends of the network may experience longer delays as the system recharges.

Vulnerable customers registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct notifications for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
