Ballysillan Playing Fields Upgrade: FP McCann Details Progress And Next Steps

FP McCann, the principal contractor for Belfast City Council with AECOM as the design team, has issued a progress update on improvement works at Ballysillan Playing Fields.

Construction began in July 2025, and phase one is largely complete aside from final surfacing, street furniture and landscaping.

To date, approximately 40,000 tonnes of bulk earthworks have been completed. Around 1,000 metres of drainage, including associated manholes, has been installed. The team has erected 16 path lighting columns and laid 500 metres of ducting, set more than 1,000 metres of kerbing, and prepared about 500 metres of paths for surfacing.
