NI Water's £2.5m programme to safeguard L'Derry City's drinking water for the next 25 years is making good progress at Craigavon Bridge, with Farrans serving as the main contractor on site.
The investment aims to strengthen the resilience of the network and enhance supply security for households and businesses across the city.
A joint Farrans/NI Water Health & Safety Training Day will take place on Craigavon Bridge on 6 February. The event will include a staged rescue by Foyle Search and Rescue Service. There will be increased activity on the bridge that day as the team conducts a training exercise, not an active rescue.
The scheme is intended to reduce the risk of bursts and service interruptions on the main, helping to keep water flowing during periods of high demand and in adverse weather conditions.
