New Woodland Manor Development Showcased In South Belfast

A showcase event has highlighted the completion of Woodland Manor, a new residential development in South Belfast tailored for residents aged 55 and over. Located near Beechill Road, the project provides 36 high-quality apartments situated in a well-connected area of the city.

The Cedarhurst development was delivered by Brendan Loughran & Sons and adheres to the CAT1 housing standard, which signifies self-contained accommodation designed for active older people. The project features a diverse mix of units, including 18 two-bedroom apartments for three people, 14 one-bedroom apartments for two-person households, and four two-bedroom apartments specifically designed for wheelchair users.

Each home is finished to a premium specification, featuring double glazing, gas-fired central heating, and modern, fully fitted kitchens. The three-storey blocks are equipped with lift access to ensure ease of movement for all tenants.

Residents will benefit from the scheme's strategic location, which offers easy access to Belfast City Centre via public transport and is within walking distance of local shopping centres and supermarkets. On-site amenities include 51 parking spaces, dedicated cycle stands at each block, and professionally landscaped communal areas with seating designed to foster a relaxed community environment.

Woodland Manor is part of the 'Housing for All' Shared Housing programme, rooted in the Northern Ireland Executive's "Together: Building a United Community" strategy. The project represents a potential £5 million investment, which includes a dedicated five-year Good Relations Plan aimed at fostering a diverse and inclusive neighbourhood.

Michael McDonnell, Group Chief Executive of Choice Housing, attended the showcase and commented: "Woodland Manor is an excellent example of our commitment to delivering high-quality, well-designed homes that allow people to live independently and comfortably as they get older. From the standard of the apartments themselves right through to the accessibility features, transport links and shared outdoor spaces, every aspect of this scheme has been carefully considered to meet the needs of its residents."

He added: "At Woodland Manor, every tenant can look forward to peaceful surroundings, a friendly community and the convenience of modern, low-maintenance living."
