Uisce Éireann is progressing planned reservoir cleaning in County Donegal this week, targeting assets serving Killybegs, Na Gleannta and Owenteskna to protect water quality and maintain reliable supply for the area.
To support service continuity during the programme, network adjustments and bypasses have been implemented. While interruptions are being avoided where possible, customers may experience temporary low pressure or slight discolouration as works proceed.
Activity on reservoirs supplying the Killybegs Public Water Supply is scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week. Crews will also continue works on the Na Gleannta Public Water Supply on Thursday afternoon. On Friday, 20 February, maintenance will be undertaken on the Owenteskna Public Water Supply.
All works will run between 8am and 6pm, with teams aiming to complete the cleaning efficiently and keep normal supply levels in place throughout.
Damien O'Sullivan of Uisce Éireann said: "These works are essential to safeguard the quality and reliability of our water supply. While bypasses and network adjustments are in place to avoid major disruption, some customers may notice temporary changes such as reduced pressure or slight discolouration. Our crews work diligently to keep any impacts to a minimum, and we thank customers for their patience while this important work is completed."
