Uisce Éireann Progresses Celbridge Water Main Upgrade Works

Uisce Éireann is continuing progress on the Celbridge to Newcastle water mains replacement project, a vital scheme aimed at improving supply reliability and reducing the high frequency of bursts and leaks in the regional network.

As part of the ongoing infrastructure works, residents and businesses in Hazelhatch Road and surrounding localities in Celbridge may experience intermittent water outages or reduced pressure tomorrow, Tuesday, 12 May. The disruptions are scheduled to take place between 3pm and 8pm.

The areas likely to be affected by these works include:

• Celbridge, Hazelhatch, and Hazelhatch Road

• Dangan, Straleek, and Balscott

• Loughlinstown, Simmonstown, and Coolfitch

Nicola Butler of Uisce Éireann said: "We are pleased to be progressing this essential project and while we understand the inconvenience caused by an interruption, we are working closely with our contractor GMC to reduce the impact of these works on homes and businesses. Our teams will work to restore the water supply as quickly as possible. We understand the impact that outages can have on customers and would like to thank the local community in advance for their patience and co-operation during the works to facilitate the delivery of the project."

The utility company has advised that once the supply is restored, customers may notice a temporary increase in discoloured water. Uisce Éireann recommends that those affected consult the "Issues during or after an outage" page on their official website for guidance on how to manage their supply during the recovery phase.
