Night-Time Water Restrictions In Parts Of Dungarvan As Public Urged To Conserve

Construction News Image

Night-time pressure reductions and temporary supply interruptions will be in place across parts of the Dungarvan area this week to allow treated-water reservoirs to recover and to safeguard daytime supplies for homes, businesses and essential services.

Customers in Abbeyside, Ballinroad, Clonea, Caseyville and surrounding areas may experience low pressure or interruptions to their water supply between 11pm and 7am over the coming week

Further localised outages may occur while crews undertake essential leak repairs on the network. Customers are encouraged to register for Uisce Éireann’s free text alert service to receive updates about works and supply issues affecting their area.

Low levels in treated-water reservoirs combined with sustained high demand have made overnight restrictions necessary to protect daytime services.

People are being asked to conserve water wherever possible during the week. Small changes in daily use can help protect supplies, support reservoir recovery and keep daytime services running for everyone.

Maura Phelan, Operations Manager with Uisce Éireann, said: "The overnight restrictions are helping to support treated water reservoir recovery and maintain daytime water supplies for homes, businesses, farms and essential services across the Dungarvan area.

"We are asking customers to continue making every effort to conserve water throughout the week. By reducing non-essential water use, everyone can help protect local supplies and support reservoir recovery. We would also encourage customers to sign up to our free text alert service so they can receive timely updates on any supply interruptions or essential repair works in their area. We thank customers for their continued cooperation and understanding."
