PJ Hegarty has named Barry Casey to its Main Board as Construction Director for the Southern Region (Ireland).
Casey joined the company in 1993 and has been central to the delivery of flagship schemes across the commercial, pharmaceutical, life sciences and residential markets. He became Regional Director in 2018, and the promotion recognises more than 30 years of leadership, technical acumen and dedication to the business.
His portfolio includes well-known projects such as Boston Scientific, MSD, Penrose Dock, Nano Nagle Place and the Elysian in Cork city.
With a workforce of more than 500, PJ Hegarty is among Ireland’s leading building and civil engineering firms, operating in Ireland and the UK with annual revenues exceeding €500 million.
The contractor works with long-standing clients in commercial, pharmaceutical, life sciences, high-tech, industrial, infrastructure, residential, aviation, fit-out and specialist sectors.
Current work includes the new Citibank headquarters in Dublin Docklands, a significant programme of works at Dublin and Cork Airports, major data centre and pharmaceutical developments for confidential multinational clients, and Ireland’s tallest residential building: the 25-storey Railyard scheme in Cork.
Following its centenary in 2025, PJ Hegarty says it is building on its reputation for excellence with a continued emphasis on safety, sustainability, responsible procurement, and diversity and inclusion.
