Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins has confirmed a £750,000 carriageway resurfacing scheme on the C570 Greystone Road in Limavady, due to begin on Monday 27 July 2026.

The project will cover approximately 1.37km of road between Broad Road and Scroggy Road, aiming to improve driving conditions and resilience along this key local route.

Announcing the scheme, Minister Kimmins said: "This is a substantial investment of £750,000 for the Limavady area which will deliver significant benefits for residents and road users. The investment demonstrates my commitment to improving our road network, which is vital for connecting our businesses and communities. I would like to thank residents, local businesses, and commuters for their patience while this essential infrastructure work is carried out."

To deliver the works safely, temporary traffic management will operate from Monday 27 July until Friday 28 August 2026. Lane closures are scheduled from Monday 27 July to Friday 31 July and from Monday 17 August to Friday 21 August.

Full road closures will be in place from 7am to 5pm between Monday 3 August and Friday 14 August, and again from Monday 24 August to Friday 28 August.

Signed diversions will operate during road closures as follows: Diversion 1: A37 Broad Road – A371 Rathmore Road – C570 Scroggy Road and vice versa. Diversion 2: U2270 Edenmore Road – U2271 Ballyavelin Road – B68 Ballyquin Road – C570 Scroggy Road and vice versa.

The Department has planned operations and traffic management to minimise disruption. While local access will be accommodated where possible, motorists should expect delays, allow extra time for journeys near the works, and follow all temporary restrictions.

Subject to favourable weather, the scheme is expected to be substantially complete by Friday 28 August 2026. Any changes will be communicated to the public.
