MP Tours Progress On £65m Lynfield Mount Hospital Overhaul

Keighley and Ilkley MP Robbie Moore has visited the Lynfield Mount Hospital redevelopment to view progress on the second phase of the £65 million programme.

He met representatives from Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust and McAvoy’s project team during a tour of the live site, where the next stage of the hospital’s renewal is under way.

The visit showcased advances made since ground was broken in April and highlighted how modern methods of construction are helping deliver high‑quality mental health facilities while keeping disruption to the operational hospital to a minimum.

McAvoy is constructing a new two‑storey modular ward and undertaking refurbishment of the existing central building, supporting the Trust's vision for modern, therapeutic environments that enhance patient recovery, staff wellbeing and future healthcare delivery.

The scheme is being delivered in phases so services can remain open throughout. Phase one comprised enabling works, including a new staff car park, a woodland wellbeing walkway, relocating the main entrance and demolishing former facilities buildings to prepare the site for installation.

Phase two will provide a new 36‑bed ward block with 100% en‑suite rooms, together with improvements to key communal areas within the existing hospital building.

All 128 modules will be manufactured offsite to around 70% completion before installation, shortening the programme, minimising disruption and maintaining high standards of quality.

The project represents a significant investment in West Yorkshire’s mental health infrastructure and will deliver modern, recovery‑focused facilities for patients, visitors and staff for years to come.

McAvoy is working in partnership with Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust to deliver the scheme and will continue progressing the redevelopment towards completion.
