One of Ireland's most significant country estates has been brought to the market with a guide price of €14.5 million.

Savills Ireland has launched the sale of Rahinstown Estate in County Meath, a 720-acre historic estate combining a 19th-century mansion, productive farmland, woodland and extensive equestrian facilities within a single ring-fenced holding.

Located near Summerhill, approximately 41km from Dublin city centre and 46km from Dublin Airport, the estate is being offered for sale by Private Treaty.

At the centre of the property is Rahinstown House, an Italianate mansion dating from the 19th century and built on the site of an earlier Georgian residence. The three-storey house, with basement level accommodation, retains many original period features, including ornate plasterwork, marble fireplaces, grand reception rooms and a cantilevered staircase.

The wider estate includes two additional residential properties, a traditional stable courtyard with 24 loose boxes, a modern stable complex and a range of traditional farm buildings. The land extends to around 480 acres of productive arable and pasture land, together with 181 acres of woodland and a further 59 acres of scrub and amenity land.

Rahinstown has a long history dating back to the early 18th century, when it was developed by the Bomford family. It later passed to the Fowler family, who commissioned the current mansion during the 1870s after the original house was destroyed by fire. Over the years, the estate became known as one of County Meath's leading sporting estates and hosted Empress Elisabeth of Austria during her hunting visits to Ireland.
