A new £23 million Eastern Entrance connects the Grade I-listed Bristol Temple Meads directly to Temple Quarter has opened.

The opening marks a major milestone in the ongoing transformation of Bristol Temple Meads and Temple Quarter, one of the UK's most ambitious urban regeneration programmes. Plans for the area include 10,000 homes and 22,000 jobs, alongside the University of Bristol’s new campus and improved links between the station and surrounding communities.

BAM UK & Ireland delivered the scheme by extending the station’s passenger subway beneath platforms 13 and 15. The complex works required excavation through existing structures within the historic station, all while trains continued to operate and construction of the neighbouring university campus progressed.
